Frequently Asked

Should I use my own agent when buying new construction in Austin?

Buyer GuideBy Laurel Seymour

Quick Answer

Yes. The builder's sales agent represents the builder's interests, not yours. Bringing your own buyer's agent gives you representation at the negotiating table and access to advocacy throughout the process. Most builders require your agent to be present on your first visit to the sales office — visiting without an agent and returning with one later often disqualifies the advisor. Bring representation from day one.
